Great Danish Opening Day at This Year’s Thomas & Uber Cup in Horsens

Denmark’s men’s and women’s national teams both took to the courts at Forum Horsens on Friday in front of an enthusiastic home crowd. That same passionate support was rewarded with victories in both Danish team ties, as the women set the tone before the men followed suit.

The Danish women faced a strong Indian side that started the tie brightly. Fortunately for the home fans, the Danish team proved even sharper throughout the contest.

Backed in part by Mette Werge and Amalie Cecilie Kudsk’s thrilling three-game victory, Denmark’s women secured a 3-2 win over India.

Unfortunately, the tie ended on a sour note in the final match, where Christine Busch suffered a knee injury during the second game. We have shared an update regarding Christine’s condition on Facebook.
